All The Cookies

My daughter bakes cookies and she’s amazing at it. She watches YouTube videos to tell her how to bake. Then she has a website she refers to that gives her a sense of feedback on how the baking process went. (If they were overcooked, too crunchy, too crispy, or under cooked. Okay, well, under cooked is not a problem. I’ll eat them under cooked every day!)

[Note: not my daughter.]

She uses my kitchen, my electricity, the groceries we bought, the wifi we subscribe to, and all our cooking supplies. Flour, sugar, vanilla, chocolate chips. And, after all of this process of using things she did not earn, she says I can have one cookie. After I supplied every single thing she needed, she gets a little stingy. :)

Isn’t this the way God feels? He supplied materials, energy, your network, and your talents and then you’re slow to acknowledge Him or give anything back to Him.

Maybe it’s all His kitchen and I need to be more generous about what I give to others and give back to Him.

Instead of “You can have one cookie.” It’s “You can have all the cookies you want. Take all the cookies.”
